Ontario Universities’ Fair

Back-to-School: Grade 12 Parents, This One’s for You!

Alright parents — can you believe it? Summer is wrapping up, and our kids are just a few weeks away from heading back to school. For those of you with students entering Grade 12, this is a big year. It’s not just about classes — it’s about planning their future. And I want to make sure you’re ready.

📌 Mark Your Calendars:
The Ontario Universities’ Fair (OUF) is happening at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on Saturday and Sunday, September 27 & 28. This is the event where students and parents can meet representatives from all Ontario universities, ask questions, and start getting serious about post-secondary plans. If you’re not on my email list and want the full details, just let me know and I’ll make sure you’re added.

Let’s Talk About Expectations

Lately, I’ve had some amazing conversations with parents who are thinking seriously about how we can support our kids through this final stretch of high school. We’re talking:

  • Getting the best out of their education
  • Aiming high with their grades
  • Building a strong portfolio through volunteer work and projects
  • Competing for scholarships and recognition

The energy and commitment I’m seeing is incredible — I honestly haven’t seen this much interest and momentum before. So to all the parents out there stepping up: you’re making it happen.

Kids Rise to the Expectations We Set

Here’s what I truly believe:

Kids grow by belief. They grow to meet the expectations of their parents.

Even if they complain, resist, or whine about the pressure, deep down they feel it — that sense of purpose, that belief that they can do great things. And most importantly, they rise to meet those expectations.

So don’t hold back.
Set the bar. Stay engaged. Ask the questions. Encourage the work ethic. And show up — whether it’s for events like the OUF, school meetings, or just those everyday check-ins.
Let’s make this year count. For our kids, for their futures, and for all the possibilities ahead.
Let’s go, parents. We’ve got this. 💪
