Parents of Grade 11 Students: Don’t Miss Out on These Scholarship Opportunities!

As a former straight-A student who once received $20,000–$40,000 in scholarships, I can personally attest to the value of applying early and strategically. That financial support made a huge difference when I was heading into university — and it’s still out there, waiting to help your kids too.

Recently, I had a conversation with some fellow parents of Grade 11 students, and I asked them, “So, what scholarships are your kids applying for?”
To my surprise, many of them looked confused — some didn’t even realize there were scholarships available beyond academic or athletic awards offered directly by schools.

Let me be clear:

There are hundreds of scholarships available across Canada — not just from schools, but from companies, non-profits, professional associations, and local organizations.

Some even extend to:

  • Canadian students going to school in the U.S. or Europe
  • Specific communities or fields of study
  • Students with unique hobbies, volunteer work, or cultural backgrounds

I sat down with my own teenager for just a couple of hours and started browsing scholarship registries online. In about 90 minutes, we found over 25 scholarships, each worth more than $5,000. That’s over $125,000 in potential funding!

And that’s just the beginning — there are plenty more smaller scholarships under $5,000.
If your teen spent even 20 hours this summer applying to various scholarships, they could realistically secure $10,000–$20,000 or more toward their education.

I’ve compiled a list of 25+ high-value scholarships (worth $5,000+ each) that are available to Canadian students — and I’d love to share it with you.
